AVOR ("we", "the app") is built by Atlas Intelligence Pte. Ltd. AVOR is a personal intelligence app that helps you notice patterns across the things you experience and care about. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who helps us process it, and your rights.

What we collect

  • Account info: email address, or your Apple or Google sign-in identifier, when you sign up. If you skip sign-in, an anonymous device identifier instead.
  • What you log: the things you save — meals, places, bottles, objects, moments — along with your ratings, your notes, and the photos you attach to them.
  • Scans: photos you take so the app can recognize what you are looking at, such as a menu, a label, a shelf, or a place. Scan photos are processed to identify the subject. We do not use your camera in the background.
  • Photo library: if you grant permission and choose to import, AVOR reads photos from your library so it can find things worth remembering. Only the photos it recognizes as relevant are turned into entries; the rest are not stored by us. You can turn photo access off in your device settings.
  • People you add: names, notes, and details you choose to record about people in your life, so AVOR can keep track of the relationships that matter to you.
  • Conversations with AVOR: messages you send and receive in the app, including images you choose to share in chat.
  • Voice recordings: when you use voice messages, audio is captured and transcribed.
  • Onboarding and profile answers: what you tell us about your interests and experiences, and your date of birth if you choose to share it.
  • Beliefs and reflections: if you use features that explore beliefs, values, or worldview, the answers and reflections you choose to share. This can include information about your religious or philosophical beliefs. It is always optional and only collected when you use those features.
  • Location: if you grant permission, your approximate or precise location, used to surface nearby places and to add place context to things you log. Photos you upload may also contain location data. You can turn location off in your device settings.
  • Push notification token: a device identifier used to send you notifications you opted in to.
  • Basic device info: device model, OS version, app version, timezone, and anonymized crash reports.

How we use it

  • To recognize what you scan and tell you whether it fits your taste.
  • To build your taste profile from what you log, so patterns, reads, and recommendations get more specific over time.
  • To let AVOR respond to you intelligently and remember context across conversations.
  • To send you notifications you have opted in to.
  • To sync your data across your devices.
  • To understand what the app is used for, in aggregate. We count how often a short, fixed list of broad themes (for example family, work, a move, a breakup) comes up across many people's conversations, so we know what to build next. These counts are never linked to you and never shown per person, they contain no text from any conversation, and a theme only a small number of people raise is discarded rather than reported. Nobody here reads your individual conversations for this.
  • We do not sell your data to third parties.
  • We do not use your data to train public AI models.
  • We do not use your data for advertising.

Where your data actually goes

This is the part most privacy policies leave vague, so here it is item by item. Every company named here is listed again, with what it does, in the section below.

  • Your logs, notes, people, and profile live in our database, hosted on Railway in the EU. Sensitive fields are encrypted where they sit, and everything is encrypted in transit.
  • Your chat messages are stored in that same database, encrypted. To generate a reply, the message you sent and the recent conversation it belongs to are sent to DeepSeek, whose servers are in China. That is a transfer outside the EEA and the UK, and it is the only part of the app that goes there.
  • Photos you send in chat are sent to Anthropic to be read so AVOR can answer. The photo itself is not written into our database.
  • Voice messages are sent to OpenAI Whisper to be turned into text. We keep the text.
  • Training: we do not train models on your data. Anthropic and OpenAI are contractually barred from training on what we send them. DeepSeek is the exception, and we would rather say so than round it off: their terms allow them to use what is sent to them to train and improve their own models, and their developer platform gives us no setting to turn that off. That applies to your chat messages, which are the only thing we send there.
  • Who can see it: no other user can see your data, ever. It is not published, and it is not shared with anyone who asks for it. Beyond the providers listed below, who only ever process what is needed to run the app, it stays yours.
  • Getting it out: Settings, then Download my data, gives you the whole server-side bundle as a file: your profile, your messages, your consent history, your birth data, and the people you have saved.
  • Getting it removed: Settings, then Delete account, or the data deletion page. Timings are in the rights section below.

Who helps us process your data

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run AVOR. They act only on our instructions, do not use your data for their own purposes, and are bound by data processing agreements. They are:

  • Cloud hosting and databases to store your account and your logs.
  • DeepSeek to generate AVOR's replies in chat. DeepSeek is a large language model provider based in China, and its servers are in China. The messages you send and the recent conversation they belong to are sent there for processing, which is a transfer of that content outside the EEA and the UK. Their terms allow them to use that content to train and improve their own models, and their developer platform offers us no way to opt out of it. Photos, voice, and the app's other AI features are not sent to DeepSeek.
  • Anthropic (Claude) to read the images you share in chat, and to generate responses across the rest of the app. Messages and images sent for processing are not used to train their models.
  • OpenAI (Whisper) to transcribe voice recordings into text. Data sent to their API is not used to train their models.
  • Google Places to look up nearby places when you use location features.
  • Sentry for crash reports and diagnostics. We do not send it your personal content.
  • Apple and Google for sign-in and, if you opt in, push notifications.

People you record who do not use AVOR

AVOR keeps track of the people in your life, which means it holds notes about people who never signed up. We take that seriously, so here is exactly how it works.

  • Everything AVOR holds about another person comes from something you said in the app. AVOR does not look anyone up, does not buy or import information about them, does not read your contacts, and never contacts them.
  • Those notes live inside your account. No other user can see them, and the person themselves is not given an account or a profile anywhere.
  • Every note traces back to the thing you said that produced it, so you can always see why it is there rather than being handed a conclusion.
  • You can correct or delete anything AVOR has recorded about a person, or delete the person entirely, in the app. Deleting your account deletes all of it.
  • Please only record what you would be comfortable that person knowing you wrote down. You are responsible for what you choose to put in.
  • If you are not an AVOR user and believe someone has recorded information about you, email us at danny@atlasintel.app. We will tell you what is held and remove it where the law requires.

Your rights

  • You can delete your account at any time, in the app or by using our data deletion page. Your data is removed from the app immediately. We hold a recovery copy for 30 days, so that an accidental deletion can be undone, and then it is permanently erased. Encrypted backups run on a rolling 14 day cycle, so the last trace can persist for up to 45 days in total before it is gone everywhere. If you would rather we skip the recovery period and erase everything straight away, email us and we will.
  • You can correct anything AVOR has learned about you, or ask it to forget specific things, directly in the app.
  • You can revoke camera, microphone, photo library, and notification permissions in your device settings.
  • You can download a full copy of your data from inside the app: Settings, then Download my data. It arrives as a file you can keep, containing your profile, messages, consent history, birth data, and saved people. You can also email us for it.

Age

AVOR is intended for people aged 16 and over. Some features may reference alcohol, and those are meant only for people of legal drinking age in their country. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
